Meet Dr. Emily Hortman

Dr. Emily HortmanDr. Emily Cooper Hortman hails from Columbia, South Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at University of South Carolina, then achieved her DMD and completed a postdoctoral residency where she earned her certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Medical University of South Carolina. Dedicated to staying current and proficient in cutting edge techniques, Dr. Hortman continually pursues postgraduate education through seminars and coursework.

With a commitment to delivering the most advanced care with a woman’s touch, Dr. Hortman joined the practice in 2005. In her residency she studied advanced implant dentistry, implant supported prosthetics, cosmetic dentistry, and accommodating special needs patients. As a vested member of the dental community, Dr. Hortman is involved in the South Carolina Dental Association, Pee Dee Dental Society, Grand Stand Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry, where she is pursuing her fellowship. She is also the Alumni representative for the College of Dental Medicine, Class of 2004 and a member of the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity.

She and her husband have two daughters, Catherine Mae and Elisabeth Grace, that keep them busy in their free time. They also have a Poodle named Grits. The couple enjoys spending time with friends and family and in their free time boating, fishing, and gardening.
