Meet Emily Hortman, DMD
Dr. Emily Cooper Hortman hails from Columbia, South Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of South Carolina, then achieved her DMD and completed a postdoctoral residency where she earned her certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dedicated to staying current and proficient in cutting-edge techniques, Dr. Hortman continually pursues postgraduate education through seminars and coursework.
With a commitment to delivering the most advanced care with a woman’s touch, Dr. Hortman joined the practice in 2005. In her residency, she studied advanced implant dentistry, implant-supported prosthetics, cosmetic dentistry, and accommodating special needs patients. She is also the Alumni representative for the College of Dental Medicine, Class of 2004, and a member of the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity.
She and her husband have two daughters, Catherine Mae and Elisabeth Grace, who keep them busy in their free time. They also have a Poodle named Grits. The couple enjoys spending time with friends and family and, in their free time, boating, fishing, and gardening.
